Brown to Speak at LWV State Convention

VANCOUVER, Wash. – Washington Attorney General Nick Brown will be the keynote speaker June 6 at the League of Women Voters’ state convention in Vancouver.

As the state’s chief legal and law enforcement officer, Brown says he is committed to protecting public safety, advancing environmental and worker protections, standing up for civil rights, and holding the powerful to account when they violate our laws and harm the people of our state.

Brown, who was elected in November, has not hesitated to challenge the Trump administration, suing on behalf of the state 13 times this year.

He will address League members and their guests at 7 p.m. at the Heathman Lodge.

The nonpartisan League was founded by leaders of the women’s suffrage movement in 1920; for more than 100 years, it has worked to empower voters and defend democracy.

Its biennial convention will be held at the Heathman Lodge, with 140 members attending from around the state.
